The Coffee Quality Institute (CQI) is a nonprofit working internationally to improve the quality of coffee and the lives of the people who produce it. CQI's audience speaks many languages and ranges from smallholder producers and processors to roasters, importers, and educators.
As a freelance designer and Webflow developer, I designed and built CQI's new site on Webflow. The goal was a site that felt warm and human, put producers front and center, and was easy for CQI's small team to keep current.

The homepage features a rotating hero for CQI's biggest announcements, like the 2026 Prospectus.
CQI runs education programs, certifications, a global fund, and partnerships across dozens of countries. I organized all of it into four clear sections (About, Education, Mission Engagement, and Support), each with a simple dropdown of subpages.
Every interior page opens with a full-width photo and a deep green card with the section name and headline. This gives the site a consistent look and lets CQI's photography lead each page.

Each section opens a simple dropdown of its subpages.

The Education section lays out CQI's processing courses from introductory to expert level.
CQI's community is global, so the site needed to work in Spanish, French, Portuguese, Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, and Bahasa Indonesia as well as English. I integrated Weglot so every page is translated on its own subdomain, with a language switcher on every page. Staff publish once in English and the translations follow.

CQI's work reaches coffee communities in dozens of countries, and the Global Impact pages tell that story. I built them in the Webflow CMS. The overview has a card for every country, and each card links to a country page showing when CQI started working there, how many projects it has run, the kinds of support it provides, and every project with its funders and partners. The team can add a new country or project without touching the design.

Each country gets its own CMS-generated page, with key stats, the kinds of support CQI provides, and a list of every project. Colombia, shown here, has worked with CQI since 2004.

I designed every layout to stack cleanly on mobile, with a simple full-screen menu and large tap targets.
