The New York Art Residency & Studios (NARS) Foundation is a nonprofit in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. It supports emerging and mid-career artists and curators from around the world through residencies, fellowships, exhibitions, public programs, and youth outreach.
As a freelance designer and Webflow developer, I designed and built the NARS site on Webflow. NARS needed a site that put its artists first and gave its staff one place to manage residencies, exhibitions, events, and alumni news.

The homepage introduces each new season of artists-in-residence.
The biggest piece of the project was a searchable database of every artist and curator in NARS' history, going back to 2009. I built it entirely in the Webflow CMS, with linked collections for people, programs, residency seasons, and countries.
I used Finsweet's CMS Filter, Load, and Nest attributes to make it fast to explore. Visitors can search by name, or filter by any of 10 programs, by year, by season, and by country.

Searching by name and filtering by year in the Artist & Curator Database.

Each person gets an automatically generated profile page with an image of their work, their countries, programs, seasons, and exhibitions. The same CMS records feed the Current Residents page, the homepage, and exhibition and event listings, so staff enter an artist once and they appear everywhere.

Exhibitions, open studios, artist talks, and outreach programs share one Events collection, filterable by category and year on the Calendar page. An Alumni News feed highlights what past residents are doing now.

The full-screen mobile menu, the database, and an artist profile on mobile.
I'm available for freelance projects and long-term contract work. Tell me a little about what you need and I'll get back to you soon.
